STEWARDSHIP
AND MISSION INTERPRETATION COMMITTEE
MISSION
The
purpose of the Stewardship and Mission Interpretation Committee is to
engage the congregation in support of and participation in the mission
work of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), and Session approved causes,
and to provide for the interpretation of the church’s work and a
program of Christian stewardship
RESPONSIBILITIES
OF THE COMMITTEE
It
is the responsibility of the committee to:
>
Carry out an annual stewardship pledge campaign.
>
Review requests and maintain contact with supported
mission causes.
>
Interpret the mission work of the church to the
congregation.
>
Recommend to Session and promote the reception of special
offerings.
>
Develop such additional programs and activities as
may be required to fulfill its
purpose.
The
goal of this committee is to offer ways that Christians at
Radcliffe Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) can give to the work of Christ
in response to God’s goodness to them.
There
are four ways of giving offered to the membership of the church.
Operating
Budget
The
Session has a budget needed to operate the church and its
mission. Each fall members are given an opportunity to pledge to
the church what they will give to the operating budget of the church
for the following year.
Planned
Giving
Members
can give to the church in a special way while planning for the future
by giving stocks, securities, or provisions in their wills that
will continue the support of the church
Building
to Serve
This
is a fund where pledges are made to pay for the building and/or renovations.
Per
Capita Apportionment
The
ecclesiastical and administrative function of the Presbyterian Church
(U.S.A.) are paid out of the per capita budget funded by dividing the
projected costs among all the members of the church.
